When I received the brief to create an annotated bibliography in blog format I was uncertain about what topic I would choose. At first I mulled over the idea of creating something with a Western theme. However, that was too broad so I ultimately decided to go with something narrower in focus - something connected with both World Wars. Eventually I latched onto the somewhat unconventional idea of life in Australia during wartime. The result is the blog that you're currently browsing. It's the culmination of my research and more than a bit of time spent with Microsoft Word 2007.

My goal with this blog is to provide a sampling of materials that elaborate on this subject matter in a variety of ways. Some resources deal primarily with life on the home front. Others have a degree of overlap, shifting between perspectives both home and abroad. While most of the materials fall under the category of being print media some of them are audio visual in nature.

While this blog is aimed at a senior demographic it can also apply to anyone with an interest in Australia's history.
